A Flight to Fashion : Coach Airways & Cafe

It took years of planning before the world's first Coach Airways was fully operational and ready for it's first flight. On 20th May 2023, Coach Airways made it's "first flight" and "safely landed" at the Freeport A'Famosa Outlet in Malacca.
Built inside a real-life aircraft; the iconic Boeing 747, the unique pop-out store also happens to be the world's first Coach Airways. Our journey to the captivating space of 4,198 square feet began crossing the sky bridge where we received our boarding pass. Upon embarking our flight, we were immersed in the vibrant flair of the interior.
The aircraft's retro-inspired architectural elements and vivid colorways create an enchanting journey through the cockpit, passenger, and lounge cabins. We were pretty much transported back to the '70s!
Beyond the mesmerizing interiors, customers can indulge in a retail shopping experience where you'll discover Coach's iconic ready-to-wear collection, bags, and travel accessories. There's also the exclusive Coach Airways Collection, featuring tees, travel accessories, and bags awaiting you to elevate your experience.
We had the pleasure of talking to Hazira, the manager of Coach Airways who has been working with Coach for the past 1 year.
"It was a real challenge to assemble the 747 and converting it into Coach Airways, but the Coach team worked tirelessly to bring this dream to a reality."
"One of the goals of Coach Airways is to provide a unique in-flight shopping experience to our customers. As you enter the aircraft, you'll be greeted with a retro yet clean interior that is meant to take you back to the good old days of the '70s."
"Of course, after a long flight, customers would want to feel refreshed before disembarking the aircraft. That is why you will be enchanted by Coach Cafe right before the exit. Our in-house barista will craft freshly brewed coffee using the iconic La Marzocco and Mahlkonig"
And towards the end of our flight, we ventured towards the tail of the aircraft and discover the Coach Café. A black La Marzocco Linea Mini and a Mahlkonig E65s GBW were spotted in the middle of the space, sitting neatly on the bar being surrounded by Coach bags.
"These two brands are synonymous with artisanal coffee. You will find them in a lot of your local specialty cafes as they are not only known worldwide but also for their reliability and consistency."
"Choosing the La Marzocco and Mahlkonig brands will not only serve good coffee but also to appeal to our customers with brands that are discerning to the Coach brand".
The Linea Mini may be small for a commercial setting, but it is without a doubt a beautiful workhorse. The E65s GBW is also a grind-by-weight commercial coffee grinder, ensuring accuracy and consistency with every single grind.
