Staff Picks of the Month : Fiorenzato AllGround Coffee Grinder
After almost 5 years as a barista, Syafiq made a decision to venture into a different part of the coffee industry. "My coffee journey began behind the bar. Making coffee for the people who loves it most was not only part of my job but it also gave me a sense of contentment."
Syafiq then began to grew interest in the equipment that made it possible for him to serve his customers their daily caffeine fix. "Espresso machines, coffee grinders, and all the other equipment are more than just tools. Knowing the ins and outs of each equipment allows you to utilize them to their full potential, and you'll end up brewing even more delicious cups."
It's been about 4 months since Syafiq traversed as the Product Sales Specialist at Lamarsa, making sure each patron receives a high standard of customer experience and leaves the showroom satisfied.
"I won't lie. It was a bit overwhelming to learn about all the products that we carry on our platform, as I have to make sure every customer gets the right information. I guess learning doesn't just end when you leave school or even college!" he sneered.
"I was the store manager of a coffee shop before joining Lamarsa this year. Even though I am relatively new at the job, my history of working in the coffee industry has definitely helped me to navigate through the daily challenges."
Our very own "Lance Hendrick" knew what was coming when we approached him, and he instantly said "The AllGround coffee grinder from Fiorenzato is my favorite pick!". We then proceeded to move to the demo bar as Syafiq begins to explain to us why he chose the AllGround.
We're sure you have known by now that we have partnered with Fiorenzato to provide our customers with their 80 years of Italian history in spearheading the world of coffee grinders. And with that, they have also just introduced Fiorenzato Home with the AllGround making its debut under the new line.
"The sleek design of the AllGround should be the first thing you'll notice. It incorporates a modernized yet elegant silhouette, a real eye catcher on any counter top. It features 3 grinding classes; espresso, moka pot and filter. Like its name, it is an all-round grinder that cuts no corners."
Changing grind size is as simple as turning the ring nut, with 30 steps.
"It's not just the design that caught my attention, but also the smooth touch display on the front. As you change your grind size, the interface seamlessly changes according to the grind setting."
The moka and filter setting is straightforward with a start and stop operation. When you turn the ring to espresso, the touch display shows manual, single dose and double dose.
Moving on to the most important part of any grinder, the burrs, are 64mm flat with redspeed coating. "Redspeed burrs are known to for its high durability and longer shelf life. It grinds cooler and with lesser friction, retaining more soluble. Most importantly, it produces high clarity cups whether it's filter or even espresso."
How well does it grind though?
"When you grind fine enough for espresso, it is going to produce more fines which is something you would want for cup with a fuller body. When grinding coarse for filter on the other hand, the burrs will respond accordingly and not produce the fines that can make your brews muddy."
Working at multiple cafes in the past has also exposed Syafiq to different types of grinders from different brands. "A lot of coffee grinders require tools to dismantle, even when you're just going to do a simple task like cleaning the burrs. The AllGround requires no tools whatsoever. Take out your hopper and turn the ring to the coarsest setting, press on the notch, and take the ring off. All that is left is to take burr out and clean them."
"The 250 grams hopper not only makes it suitable for low-volume, small cafes but for home users who prefers to stick to a bag of beans at a time."
The AllGround is a new and innovative coffee grinder that allows you to achieve perfect granulometry
